December Daily 2022 - Day 5

Hello! Day 5! Moving right along. I want to note that this is the most creating I have EVER done for December Daily actually IN DECEMBER, and I'm feeling very proud of myself!
Day 5 is a simple story sharing 5 JOYS for me during this season. JOY was like the overall theme for me this season and I really wanted to make sure I was remembering to have joy and find joy where I could.

For Day 5, I decided to do a simple tag + list with some mixed media/junk journaling fun. I had just received some awesome vintage travel punch cards from my FAV junk journal shop, The Paper Basket, so it was perfect to use as a background for this little page.

Here's a look at both "pages" inside of a page protector I cut down from a larger size. I was going to use my We R Memory Keepers tool to heat the page protector closed, but I couldn't find it, so instead I sewed the side of it with my sewing machine.
On both the front + back of the tag/paper, I used modeling paste and a stencil from Ali Edwards to have the word JOY repeated over and over. I then did some water coloring on top of that + added some splatters.

Here's a look at both outside of the page protector. I really LOVE how the collaging turned out on the front page. I tore some strips of memorabilia + stuff i had in my stash, including an envelope from Illustrated Faith (that my advent calendar came in), some vellum paper, and a letter from Brandi Kincaid included in her Extravagant Hope mailers. I also added some die cuts from Ali Edwards to the front + back.

Just love how this one turned out and love that I was able to focus on JOY in this season. This is definitely something I would like to repeat in some form in every album, as it really helped me remember the little things during a very busy + stressful time.

 xoxo
