December Daily Album 2022
Hi, welcome. Today I'm sharing how I'm creating my December Daily 2022 Album. If you are a scrapbooker, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you are not a scrapbooker, you have literally no idea what I'm talking about, so I will share a quick blurb: December Daily is a scrapbook album/journal where you tell one story per day in December/create one (or more) scrapbook pages featuring that story.
You may wonder why someone would attempt to create a scrapbook album during what is considered the busiest time of the year. BECAUSE. That's why. No, just kidding. My reasons change a little bit every year, but the main reason stays the same: creating this album helps me live in the season instead of just being one big ball of stress. It helps me find joy + love + charity + small moments in the season instead of letting the whole season sweep by and wondering where it went. It helps me remember + create magic + destress.
This is my 5th (?) time attempting a December Daily album and they've looked a little different each year. Some are finished, some aren't. And it is what it is.
This year, I decided to use this vintage vinyl record pamphlet cover I found at an antique store while I was visiting my aunt in Kentucky. I'm kind of obsessed with all things vintage right now, since I've been doing a lot of junk journaling (more on that another day), so when I saw this cover, I absolutely LOVED IT.
I had some trouble figuring out how to bind my journal together, since I didn't really want to cut into the cover. Then I thought of it: an accordion album! Eureka! If you don't know what that is, come back again soon and you'll see it starting to come together. But it is basically like the accordion instrument but in paper form.
I am currently working on Day 6 in the album and I'm pretty excited with how it's coming out. Creating each page has been fun even though it's been a challenge to figure out what it's going to look.
I hope you're having a good holiday season so far.
xoxo
