December Daily 2022 - Day 6

Hello!  Happy new year! Even though it's the new year and I'm excited for new years project, I'm working my way through my December Daily album and am hoping to have it completed by the end of January.

Today I am here to share story 6 in my album, which is about going to the Chriskindl Market in downtown Chicago, with a twist (read on to find out what it is!)

I try to visit the Chriskindl Market every year during Christmas. If you haven't heard of it, it's a Christmas market similar to one in Germany. It has many beautiful vendors + European food + the BEST hot chocolate you can ever have.

It is one of the only Christmas traditions I have, to go to the Chriskindl Market and it is usually with my dear friend, Becky, and sometimes, my sister! Every year, we go and get hot chocolate and get that year's exclusive mug (there is usually a new one each year!).

This year, unfortunately, my friend Becky couldn't go due to some complications she was having from pregnancy (she's having her baby very soon!), and we were both super bummed. Being the person I am, I tried to think of a way she could still experience the market even though she couldn't go. Eureka!

I went with my sister to the Market, bought mugs for me + Becky, took a photo of the welcome sign to the market, and when I came back to my office to deliver them, me + Becky took a photo in the hallway, with our hoods up, like we were outside! I then took that photo and Photoshopped us into the welcome photo. AHMAZING RIGHT?!!! It's like we didn't even skip a year! The photo above is the Photoshopped photo and I think it turned out amazing!

To create the page, I used a digital template from my friend Shannan that I made a little smaller so I could do some layering of paper in the background. I sewed a border around the page with my sewing machine.  All the text and changing the color of the word 'tradition' was done before printing it out.

The patterned mug is a stamp I received from my friend Audrey that I stamped then cut out. I was going to put it where the number is, but it was too big (and there was waaayyy to much mug action going on on this page), so I put it down in the corner. Added some sequins and more embellishments before calling it done!

I really love how this one turned out and SUPER LOVE that I was able to document one of my FAV traditions this year, even if it wasn't in the same way!

xoxo
