December Daily 2022 - Day 2
Hi Hi! Merry Christmas Adam! (One of the pastors at my church said this recently and I'm totally borrowing it from him...get it? Adam comes before Eve?! Religious joke...).
N.E. WAYS...I'm back here to share Day 2 of my December Daily album/junk journal for 2022. I love this next set of pages because it is very junk-journal-esq, which totally has my heart right now.
On the 2nd of December, we went to our town's Christmas tree lighting festival, called Holly Days. We brought our dog Snow (who is peeking out of the bottom because she is included in another story), but didn't end up staying long because she was waaayyyy overstimulated with all the people. (She's fluffy + cute so naturally people want to pet her all the time, but she gets VERY nervous).
While
we were there, we also saw our neighbors, walked around a bit to look
at the decorations, and saw Santa! For my story for Day 2, I knew I
wanted to focus on how much I love our town, as opposed to what we
actually did. (I also didn't have a lot of photos from this I loved, so
this made that decision even easier).
Now
for the technical parts: I decided to use a story book page from the
Jingle Bells Golden Book I took apart. On top of that, I did some junk
journaling, making sure to keep some of the images + words visible from
the original page. I painted + stamped + collaged. The "merry and bright" you see in the background is a stencil from Ali Edwards.
On the other side, I did end up including a photo of Santa I took, on a digital junk journal background from KB + Friends. I did more painting + collaging to match the other side, and wrote some journaling right on top. Simple + sweet.
Here's a look at both pages together. I made sure to not adhere the "Santa page" down on the other side so it can flip back and forth (the backside holds the story from Day 3).
Even
though these pages are a little busy, I really love how they turned
out. I love that they include bunnies + a story about Snow + our home
(some of my FAV things right now).
So far I've created through Day 6 and I plan to work on it alot over the next week while I'm off for the Christmas holiday, so make sure you watch out for more!
Wishing you and yours a very happy holidays!
xoxo
